Is this snail showing a deficiency or is it genetic variation?

I added some ramshorn snails to my planted tank to keep the algae in check, and I noticed a few clear shelled ones.

I was hoping they would reproduce and sure enough I am seeing a few more, so I took them out and put them in my 30g every time I spot one.

My question is, is this color caused by a nutrient deficiency, or is it a genetic phenotype?

I think it would be cool to cross these with a red ramshorn.

Neat! It's genetic variation. We have white/blue, red, leopard and brown for ramshorns.:)

Cool thanks Lupin! Post some pics, I want to see the leopards and the reds.

I was thinking of getting some red off of aquabid, but it's just food for the puffers I'm getting lol
