Is this soils safe for my tegu?

I saw a post about this, said it was safe for turtles, it should be safe for me tegu correct?

The main concern would be whether or not it can retain enough moisture to hold a burrow. I would assume that if a tort can use it, it's good for a tegu.

Most folks I know with large lizards simply make their own soil however, mixing play sand with peat.

As long as there’s no added fertilizer it should be okay correct?

Yeah just straight peat with no added fertilizer. Back when. I kept big lizards is always just get mine from Lowes. It came in a big bundle and would make quite a bit. I use the same stuff in my fish tanks for a blackwater setup.

Do thirds of sand, peat and organic topsoil about 2' deep if your enclosure can support it. Give it leaf litter to cover it all and retain moisture. Your tegu will be happy!

So long as the only ingredient is dirt, yes. Avoid the fertilized and other gimmicky types.
