so ive got 4 GTs in my 125 and lat night i noticed the two largest ones lip locking inside a cave. they were also rubbing their sides up against one another. my question is is this spawning behavior between a male and a female or is this two males fighting for territory.

prob. spawning if they're big enough.

unlikely that you have 4 of the same sex unless you planned it that way

pics would help

i got 4 of whatever in an attempt to increase my odds of getting atleast one fish of the opposite sex so that i can get a breeding pair. so will two males do this or is it a male female thing? there around 3.5 to 4 in maybe a little larger

Same sexes will lip lock and flap their tails as well, it's hard to tell the difference between a fight and a breeding ritual, especially if you haven't seen em before. When fighting the same sex they're testing each other to establish who's the boss... and with the opposite sex they're trying to determine if they're good enough to produce viable offspring.

Since GTs are relatively easy to sex by pictures once sexually mature, your best bet is to take pictures of all of them and post em here, that way you'll know for sure... or just wait some time and you'll have an answer.

all i got it my cell phone camera and they wont hold still long enought to get good pictures but ill try
