Is this stocking idea ok?

Hey i have a 55 gallon tank, 3ftx 1.5ftx 1.5ft i am hoping to keep 2 gold severums, 2 firemouths, 2 convicts. this is not for life but for 1yr till i get a bigger tank. could i put two salvini's in there too?

so please advise me based on the compatibility of these fish in ur experiences.. thanx

if the convicts are a pair and begin spawning then you could have problems. If you go with 2 male or 2 female convicts then you would probably be ok for 1 year. Personally, I'm not a fan of buying fish now and their tanks later...things happen that we can't prepare for so that new tank may not be a possibility a year from now. Just my $0.02.

I would have to agree with Jason_S (because it has happened to me before and I had to give away some really good looking fish).

Stock for the tanks you have now IMO

I agree also about buying the minimun number of fish. In my 55, I have 2 severums, miniture lace catfish and a clown pleco.
