We are going to get a 270g acylic tank. The person we are going through says that Tenecor is the brand for the tank and sump. However I am not sure how to the do piping. Does this look correct? I don't know the exact overflow size or sump yet. I'm also guessing that the GenX-40 pump is external. The red things are valves. Can I just reroute the exit from the pump to outside the house? Also if I was to refill water after I do a water change, do I fill the top tank or the sump?

Don't mind my drawings. I made it with powerpoint.

looks fine to me.

i personally fill the mian tank, but thats what i drain. that then overflows into the sump so you can top off any that has evaporated. stop when your sump is at your desired level.

yours would work this way too.

one thing to note, if your going to do a water change by using the pump to outside the house, you can only empty the sump, as water will not flow down below your overflow pipe. so you wont be able to do 80% water changes that way etc if needed.

Sorry I didn't reply. We were installing new flooring to get ready for our tank. Anyways how about this design? Do you think there will be enough space in the overflows to do the piping? I really don't want to use a very long hose to do water changes bi-weekly/weekly. Though I don't mind using a suction hose once in a while to pickup crap.
