Will an 8'x2'x2' be big enough for one silver arowana for life....? if not how long could he stay in here... and i might be able to bump it up to 2.5-3' width

Yea, ive seen much worse.. i might go with 2.5' width though

Its alot better than most, but a 30" width would be the best.

I would go for the 30", you will thank yourself when the aro is bigger than 24" and looking nice and comfy in his 30" wide tank.

ugh i guess your right....

Alot of people will tell you that a 8'x2'x2' would be good for life, I find it hard to imagine a 32-33" silver in a tank that narrow. If you can go for a 300g wide which will add 6 more inches of depth. If the 240g is all you can get then go for it, in 4-5 years once the silver aro has grown quite large you may find yourself upgrading then.

oh actually 30" is very do-able ill go with that for sure

im going for a 8foot by 30in by 2feet if needed, ill upgrade but by then ill be off to college so ill have to give him up anyway

The tank will be exactly 300G, thats all i can do and im positive it will be fine for the time i have to keep him.

A 240g will house a silver but a 300g would be much beter go big especially if its not a problem. Some people house multiple aros in a 180g i just came from china town the guy at the lfs had 4 huge aros in a 180 and he was using it as his desk, amazing they seamed happy and had been in that tank for years.
