Is this typical growth for an EBJD over 7 months?

I know they're remarkably slow growers, just want peoples opinions on whether the growth rate can be improved.

Here is my ebjd yesterday.

I've had only a little trouble with this fish, dealing with any internal parasites using New Life Spec. Hex Guard. It's no longer with the gourami due to an aggressive oscar. The ebjd is fairly aggressive, bullying a slightly larger severum daily and generally being the king of his tank.

Glad to hear. Water is pristine, giving large weekly water changes and heavily planted.

I got mine lateish part of May, he was 1.5in.


I have had him 6 month's now and have been getting about a 1/2 inch of growth a month. I do water changes 50% twice a week.
Here he is now, 6 month's later, he is 4.5 inch's now. So I would say 1/2 in a month is normal for JD's.
