It is a wild caught(Lake Chad) Polypterus bichir bichir.The seller is a friend of mine and a member of our bichir group,the Philippine Bichir Brotherhood.I have seen the specimen last year when he bought it from our friend's fish store.The owner of that 12 incher Chad pbb got the specimen from the most trusted bichir store in the Philippines and is in fact the official bichir store/supplier of the Philippine Bichir Brotherhood.So I can assure you that the Pbb is definitely wild caught even though the photograph taken was not of good quality.

here are the pics. I know angel is good at ID'ing bichirs, but im also a bit concerned about the heft. looks a bit skinny for a 12" bichir.

The pbb is really skinny based on the current photos that the seller has posted.The pbb does not look as good as it was when I saw it last June 2012(The date it was purchased).The pbb was not able to eat for sometime because of frequent fighting(Stress) from its 3 endli tankmates.Plus the fact that the seller's tank is too bare for comfort for such a small pbb hence the skinny look on the pbb.Its not really a question on whether it is WC or CB but rather the current health of the bichir in question.As far as I know the seller sold the bully(Endli)and the pbb plus the 2 remaining endlicheri bichirs are already eating Massivore pellets.:):)
