So 2 of my males have been showing signs of breeding behavior in the last week. So looking at them today, I noticed my female SS up against the tank and had this hanging out of her. Is it a sperm plug? did one of them finally get her. Some of the breeders out there let me know what you think

Hope Jeff doesn't read, this he might not realise he ain't DEAD !! I think you mean Steve Irwin....LOL!!,may he rest in peace...loved that guy!
He got multiple stab wounds to the chest, had it hit him elsewhere he would have been with us today..absolute tragedy!!
To answer your question. Yes they can hurt you, many members on here have been tagged but generally your ok given the correct treatment, antibiotics etc.
Trick is not to get tagged, common sense and know how usually prevents such an incident.

Definitely sperm plug, the red area around the cloaca is a give away also.
