I personally use hardwood tree parts such as Oak in my aquarium. Also dried dead Oak leaves recently.

Yeah the bark seems to be very loose

I agree with tlindsey about at least stripping the bark. I really think the wood looks pretty soft though. I think it will end up rotting away in the aquarium.

Do you have a river near you?

Thx bud, I'll take your advice. I was going to put it in the wolves tank but won't chance it
