Is this worth 25$

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have heard good things, but have never owned one. I do know that there are some pieces that break easily if not used carefully - I believe handles were the main issue if I remember correctly.

To be honest, I would need some kind of assurance in regards to whether it works and how long it has been used. I would take it completely apart and look carefully at all parts. I would also require that they show me it works on a functioning aquarium. Lastly, I would not pay more than $18 - unless they are including media or something else. There is risk involved when buying used, especially when purchasing an off brand filter.

Well, just saw the above. He may be right, I would definitely think twice.

He said he would run them for me so I could see they aren't leaking. He has three of them. I was thinking of buying a powerhead but if I can get another canister for 25 bucks I thought "why not".

I have the larger version and would think it would do a good job if your solely looking to polish your tank. There is a good amount of room for media. Also I have not had any problems yet and it's been about 8 months. For $25 I would definitely get it though.

I have one of those and 2 of the larger 304b. No leakage on any of them. Works good, runs quiet, easy to do maintenance on. At $25 I would do it, but have them set it up and running so you can check for leaks.
