Well as you all know, its tax season and I've waited almost a year to buy a large monster aquarium. I've been browsing craigslist and seen a few 180's and 200's, but I don't wanna jump on the first thing I see.. Well this morning I see a 300gallon Acriylic with stand for 600obo, the catch is, the tank needs to be reseamed. Has anyone here ever reseamed a tank before? Is it hard? Is it expensive to get someone else to do it? Or should I just leave that tank alone?

If you've been waiting this long to find a tank that will be the one you want, then I would wait and get the one you really want. Resealing isn't as hard as some might think, but it still can be stressful in that you lay awake at night wondering did you do it right, will it leak and at 300 gallons??? I would hold off and get the one you really want and also search on neighboring craigslist (next county) and drive a hour to get something I really want :)

2$ a gallon for a leaky tank?
not this guy.
keep track of the ad and the number and see if you can get him down to $150.

If an acrylic tank needs to be re-seamed - doesn't that mean that the joints are actually failing? I think if that is the case, the tank needs to be cut apart and made new.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I have been searching C-list all over north and south carolina. Big tanks are hard to come by here. If anyone could give me a link to something either here on MFK classifieds, or craigslist I would be gratefull. The listing can be anywhere in north carolina or south carolina (I'm willing to drive)!! I will also post a wanted add in the classifieds.. Thanks for all the replys!!
