So I’m finally getting back in and one of the fish I want to stock is a nice pike cichlid, but I have a few requirements. It needs to fit in a 125 for life, and not get big enough to eat fully grown Denison barb (about 4 inches). Also, obviously I have to like how it looks. Am I asking for a unicorn or do y’all have my solution?

How about a sveni?

kno4te kno4te and Gourami Swami Gourami Swami funny that y’all should mention those 2... I’m not opposed to dwarf at all, but I’m wanting a little more color/pattern than I’ve seen previously.

The rest of the crenicichla will grow between 10-16 inches, and will most likely eat dennisoni barbs as adults

Matteus Matteus interesting. Do you know the scientific name?

A female Proteus would give a good splash of color from the dorsal fin and should stay small enough to ignore the Denison barbs if they are full grown already. Maybe.

Maybes are always fun =P I really do love Denison barbs, but what if I was to cut them out? Some of the other fish I was looking at to consider would be a paratilopia polleni, a flag tail, a puffer (big maybe, needs a lot more research), and still open to other ideas... just remembered knife fish but that’s gonna take some careful consideration too.
