Hi,

I swapped out thr stock white sponges for the Black(Course) and Blue(Medium) foam sandwiched together.
I did put them in dry and not rinse them which I probably should have first. The FX6 sounds like it has air bubbles.

I read the manual and it says too much media. I do notice if I lower the outtake value 50%, the noise goes away.
So looks like it is having a hard time pushing water out. I cleaned everything out and added poly fil floss on the bottom tray.

I did not have any issues with the stock sponge. The youtube shows this course/fine upgrade so maybe I have to remove the
poly fil?

I’m dreading this filter now since it is so heavy and hassle to move canister to bathroom to clean. It should have a base
with casters to wheel around the very least.

When you drain the unit, does yours drain to empty? My only drains to about 70%. Still 30% left water and it’s heavy.

It sounds to me like you just need to get the air out of the canister.

Did you try lowering the return hose to a bucket on the floor and running it for a minute like that?

That might be enough to get it primed.
