So my geophagus has been what looks like building a nest or what ever you call it for him and my JD. I thought they were both males. But hes digging a hole and chasing off every one but the JD. Even if one is a female it wouldn't happen. Are they both males?

Why not? My severums were a *** couple for 4-5 years until one died. I've also had 6-7 Jewels, all female with some kind of big old lesbian open relationship thing going on...

To my knowledge, it would be a first if they did.

Ive noticed that my geos will dig pits out around rocks and defend the area even with no mates. Just territorial behavior imo.
