Hello all,
I recently transfered my IT dat along with others into my 150 gal tank (check the sig for tankmates). A week later (recently) I've noticed her brushing against rocks and such, as well as the "harlem shake!" I checked my levels, everything seems fine, temp is at 83ish, and ph is at 7.0 along with salt.
What i know is that there was a buildup of organic waste in the 150 before I transferd them (used to be at 6.4ish) and out of the tap is around 7.6-which is what she was in before.
Is that what it could be?

I have read that dats sometimes naturally rub against things when they are unsettled. They called it 'flashing'. My dat used to do this when I first got her but she's settled in pretty good now (it took about 6 months). If there are no other signs and the water checks out then I probably wouldn't worry about it.

If flashing occurs and there is no sign of ich or other sicknesses then check water params, and do water changes. I would not recommend adding salt, as salt will sometimes cause the flashing.

Some Hobbiest have had success treating Dats that are flashing by cutting down on salty foods such as frozen shimp and krill.

If the flashing is being caused because of ich, then salt would be a good treatment choice.
