IT Datnoid growth rate.

Anyone know the growth rate of a baby IT?

not sure exactly but very slow

at first they hit like 2 inches fairly quick considering there later growth rate but after that VERY slow

My baby it's were about half inchers when I started raising them. 4 months later, 85% of them are now close to 3"s.

what was your feeding regimen like?

the IT i got at .5in at the beginning of last February are now about 2.5 and a few 3inchers they have been feeding on freez dried shirimps and raw fillet

From my experience, given right conditions, a 1 incher can get to 6-8 inches in 2 years. Then it slows down somewhat, say an inch per year.

It can depend on the fish though, I had a 8 inch it grow to 12 inch in 2 years. This one just had a massive growth spurt after 8 inch mark...... The point at which the growth in general should slow down....

After 8 inch, you notice less length , but more bulk and depth growth.

what was your feeding regimen like?

Well, I feed my Datnoids about 5 times a day minimum up to 7 times. No exaggeration.

I do water changes twice a week of 50%.

I bought my 9" guy 10 months ago. Since then his has grown 2" and is now at 11". I feed him once a day, arrow sticks,cichlid pellets,shimp,basa fillet and algae wafers.

Look above at my post. Good to do it when they are tiny though.
