Hey everyone i purchased an indo datnoid a couple months ago and he's never really been able to constantly swim. Most of the time it literally sits on the bottom of the tank. It's eating prawn and pieces of basa no worries and is growing since being moved into the bigger tank. When feeding it will fly up to grab some food but will then go back to its spot and hit the ground and stay there. Lately its seems to be getting worse. I've seen it lay completely on its side for extended periods of time making it look dead until i approach the tank. When I turn the lights off its swims around a lot more though? It's stomach appears pinched in at its pectoral fins and never seems to hold any body weight around its belly. Does he have a swim bladder issue or internal parasites?

Thanks in advance20130530_114702.jpg20130530_114656.jpg20130530_114709.jpg20130530_114716.jpg

That first picture looks bad. It's definitely not a swim bladder issue. Could be ip's. i would treat his food and tank with prazipro to make sure. As far as the "lazy" behavior, that's typical Dat behavior. Some shiny silver dither fish may help that

Ok cheers man I'll look at getting some. Hopefully thats the only issue. It goes from fat to skinny overnight so I'd say thats the case

Currently treating with some fluke and tapeworm tablets. Active ingredient is praziquantel 100mg. Will that do the trick or am i way off?
