It has begun....practice 415 gallon DIY

We got started on the practice tank, getting ready for the 650 gallon, on our 415 gallon living room monster. Its exterior dimensions L:99inches W:30 inches H:35inches
It is 3/4 inch ply framed in 2x6's on a 2x6 frame stand

We got an amazing deal on the glass.....FREE
We found some glass at work that had been around for a while. We asked, and they said if you can move it take it. 2 sheets that are 44x102 inches, 3 sheets 42x102, and 2 sheets that are 33x102, and 1 small sheet that is 17x102.
If this tank and the 650 work out right, we will probably be building ply DIY's till we run out of glass.

Glass looks pretty thick, why not build a monster all glass? Etheir way it looks like you are off to a good start.

More tanks out of plywood than just using it all on one big monster. Were gonna make alot of tanks, different styles and places.

hope you arent planning to use that 3/8" glass on either of the tanks you mentioned.

if so. please video tape the filling process

We are only going to have 24x95 inches of viewable space in the front pane. The tank is going to be larger than the front pane of glass, just because we know we can't go over 24 inches high with the thickness of glass that we have.
