My IT currently has cloudy eyes. Its always stable but suddenly it just developed two cloudy eyes. I haven't done anything special to my tank. I am still continuing with my weekly 50-60% water changes.
I think its already blind because yesterday at feeding time, it bumped to my two fake plants when it was crossing the whole length of the tank. It always keeps to its own and stays at either end of the tank and rarely crosses over to the other side. Also, I have to literally hand feed it and place the shrimp close to its mouth for it to snatch it.
I've read around that nitrates is the main cause of this. Should I bump up my water change to 2 x 40% water changes a week to fix it? Man... that's a lot of work...
Can it still be cured? I also got melafix so I don't know if it will help. Also, will melafix affect disk shaped fishes? What else can I do other than more frequent water changes? Also, I held off to my regular water changes of every week due to the recent addition of this new fish. Its been 8 days since my last water change.
