Hi guys,

I'm brand new on this forum and I would like to know if it's possible to breed Channa Marulius or Channa Micropeltes? I know they are the two biggest species of Channa but they are the two available species right now!

Thanks for your answer!

Martin

Hi Martin,

I dont think that someone has the room to breed one of the 2 species maybee the
guy with the 50000 g Tank...;) This two species grow at .min. 1 m and are to agressive
to try for breeding them in a Tank.... The smaler Species are possible to bred like :stewartii(or himalaya) ,Spec.Assam, Gachua , Khao Lak, Asiatica, bleherie, kerala(five stripe) etc....Aurantimaculata is a problem they have breed only one time here in Germany i think i have a pairtoo, wil try to breed them...
here is a pic of Khao Lak with breed :

They are often pond bred and cage reared for market in parts of India, there is a government site on culturing them somewhere on google but it is a pain to find
