A LFS is selling me a datnoid but I still can't figure out if it is an ST or IT. I looked at the Sticky but even with the pictures I can't seem to differentiate between the two. Can someone please help me on the differentiating in terms of the tail appearance ?

you cant necessarily go off of tail appearance alone. you need to look at several indicators; tail pattern, stripe pattern, body shape, etc. chances are its probably an IT.
if its small (2~4") and cheap ($20~40), its most likely an IT. ST are hard to come by and are usually only available in very large sizes. And the price tag will be a lot higher too.
