I have a 5" IT that I've been keeping with some angels, geophagus, and jurupari. The IT acts normal during the day (hides behind / underneath driftwood, eats worms/pellets whenever offered, color is stable) but when the light goes off at night he turns into a stalker and begins following around angels that are bigger than him acting like he's going for the kill. The other fish really don't like this.

Anyway, the other morning my jurupari was floating at the top of the tank badly hurt. He swam off when i tapped the tank and he'll make it. But I was wondering if this was from the IT?

Is this normal behavior for an IT? And is it inappropriate to keep IT in with geophagus? The dat does not act aggressive, only seems "food hungry" at night.

Normally Dats are ok with other types of fish that it can't swallow, but this is not unheard of. The mix of Dats and Geos works most of the time. You may just have one of those "Devil Dats".

What is the size of your tank, how many fish exactly are in it, and how many hiding spots?

its a 55 with 4 angels, 1 jurupari, and 1 brasiliensis. it's planted with many hiding spots/caves/driftwood. this is not their final home, they are going in a 90g soon.
