Here is a female bp/texas hybrid from the super bowl spawn. She is 2 years old and finally beginning to fade. Aquatic Aggression asked did the fading come after taking out a dominant the fish or anything. The answer is not really lol. I did a simple 10 gallon water change on my 90 gallon. She did get more aggressive in the tank but she wasn't paired up with anything. About a couple days later I noticed she had some white up under her mouth and I started watching from there.

She is uglier than ever! LOL She looks beat up but she is the most dominant female within my 90 gallon. None of the marks on her are scars. Since the fade started so late, I guess that's why its going so slow. It doesn't matter because "if" she is fertile, she will produce faders. She is the last of my females that has yet to have been check for fertility.

Very interesting.....has she laid eggs before?

She has not yet. She was never the most aggressive female out of her siblings and never "paired" up with a male. A few males showed some interest but not long enough for her to try and spawn. Now that she is dominant within my 90, I'm hoping she will pick my red devil or carpintis. She will get a chance to show me if she will or not real soon.

Picture 346.jpgPicture 359.jpgShe reminds me of a female fader I had for a while. She laid eggs one time, but i could never get her to pair up with any males I had. Gave up on her after about a year.

She would have looked real nice if she was faded... I bet you wonder if she ever did! Lol But yeah moving on with a "fertile" and egg laying female from our superbowl spawn was the hardest part. We got plenty that looked good but were sterile. Then we had some good looking ones get killed because of lack of space. RT projects cause so much stress lol.
This females name is Jacky because she looked similar to a jd for so long. I know its only been about a week since I posted but she has faded some more and I will post pics later tonight.
