Hi i was wondering if their is a product out there that can relieve itch for sensitive scaleless catfish species? For my synodontis hybrid. She's maybe 8" long. TL. This is not a joke, as you may know my catfish got severe heater burns a few weeks back. She is now doing much better except the past few days she has gotten increasingly itchy and is now throwing herself at lava rocks and flailing her body in a desperate attempt to relieve itch. She looks miserable. She has longgg scratch streaks all over her body and has become desperate. She has also become more and more active lately and is out and about with the lights on. Also my cuckoo catfish have been following suite and are swimming laps around the tank in pairs of 2. Its really weird, they havent been this active since before i moved them from the 20g growout. The cuckoo catfish are not itchy. And their is no ich, visible parasites. Ive never seen her poop before so idk about stringiness. No other tankmates are displaying these symptoms (this doesnt mean their arent any just means i havent seen it. I do spend quite a bit of time watching this tank btw)

Have you consider this might be a display of aggression? While your s multipuntatus is shoaling, the other fish is not. Do you have ample hiding places for them both?

The cuckoo catfish are only about 3" long. The injured catfish is a behemoth compared to a junvenile pygmy gerbil. The size difference is insane. I have to use a macro lens to get good pics of the cuckoo's. I see them together all the time. Oh and the cuckoo catfish were moved to this tank several months ago. Aproaching half a year. In terms of volume the injured catfish is more than 20 times the size of the largest cuckoo. Tank is a 100g discus community moderately planted tank.
