My fish took toll after move. Was stressed for last few days. I noticed itch today.

I have methlyne blue and api aquarium salt. Just set the temperature to 88 for now, it was 80.

Should I treat with methlyne blue and salt or just salt? I don't have extra tank right now, just 75 the fish is in.

For sanity check, Am I reading the thermometer right? 80 is line below number 80, right?

One or the other, use the salt +heat or the Mblue route.

To me that thermometer reads 74°
Thanks, then tank was at 80. Will try the salt + heat method for now. If it doesn't fix in a week i would switch to methlyne blue.

Heat + salt doesn't have a set amount of time. You need to do it for a minimum of 2 weeks past the point you see the last inch node pop off of the fish. This total time is around 4 to 6 weeks. Also remember you need to put the salt back in after each water change till the whole course is over.

I added approx 2 pounds of salt for around 70 gallon water. Thermometer still shows 80. I think heater will take some time.
