From the smallest to the largest fishkeeping is a gamble.
No fish can honestly be trusted, can it?
The fishes that I dont trust the most are dwarf cichlids. They just seem to turn on eachother in my tank. Examples..My green kribensis(pelvachromis sacrimontis) were up their with my favourite fish, but then progressing and getting worse over time, the male was picking on the female, and after a few months the female died.
And then theres my golden rams, one fish that I wouldnt keep in a tank with ANY other cichlids, ATALL.
So for about a year or so I had a pair of nice golden rams, then..Just beofore I left the house to go to Donegal for the weekend I noticed my rams fighting, liplocking, dragging eachother around the tank. This, wasnt good. When I got back the female had killed the male, the female then went on the liplock and drag my DISCUS around the tank. And then, it stressed my sajica so much, that the sajica was just a wreck, it didnt eat for about a week, only swam a little bit and looked half dead. Then..It was so bad I sold that female ram and its all better now
Just wanted to know, if anyone else has had problems like this, with 'peaceful' or compatable fish turning..
