well i had been looking at this jardini for a few weeks at my lfs and he was 150 then they said we will take 100 for you about a week later :headbang2
so i started really looking at him closely to make sure i really wanted to spend my money on him. and i started noticing a few red spots by his fins and stuff so i asked them about it n they said oh....thats anchor worm. we will treat him. so i come back a few days later to pick him up and there are a few more!! :( so me being impatient i buy him and the treatment and decide to treat him at home. so i put him in the 120 for three days before a was goin to start the treatment so he wasnt over stressed from both moving and getting treated. and when i looked at him closely all the anchor worms were gone.... even the one in his eye socket :screwy: and now 2 weeks later there are none and no marks or anythin he looks alot better and eats like a pig.
i just wanted to share and maybe someone can tell me why this happened?
and this pic is him playing with his smelt since he can only fit four in his stomach at a tim eso he plays with the last one till its chewed up enough to fit down the hatch. awsome to watch :D
thanks guys

Congrats!

Perhaps the slight ammonia spike from adding him to the tank killed the inverts on him?

thats a possibility bc my water did get slightly hazey as well
its cleared up now tho.
i think that was it tho bc my water was cloudy and i found half a shrimp behind a rock the day after a got him. so maybe it was an amonia spike. ha i guess there is a use for ammonia after all

Yeah, it's possible! Fish can withstand more than inverts for sure. Of course, there are chemicals already around that specifically target inverts and don't even touch the fish. But for a ghetto cure, this is right up there with pennies in the tank!

ha nice.
pennies?

Yes, the old-school excuse for a copper treatment. Works best in soft water. Very difficult to dose accurately since the variables involved in how much copper dissolves are numerous. Not even remotely recommended by anyone anymore. I think it was used as an ich cure, but I forget now. My dad did it once when I was a kid.

ha thats pretty cool. i love home made remedies for stuff :)
now i need to take back the 15 dollar bottle of treatment, maybe get my fish some treats or somethin

sorry if i had a camera i would be taking much much better pics....
i only have my phone right now
