Just wanted to show the difference in a good genetic fish and a weak genetic fish. Both of these Dovii are 5.5", both are male and both of them have the exact same diet which consists of Hikari Cichlid Gold, Krill, worms, shrimp, tallapia and beefheart. The F1 was ordered online, the low genetic one was purchased from a LFS that receives them in bulk.

It's a world of difference.

That F1 is to die for.. Thanks for posting this. Should help alot on the debate of how important/unimportant genetics and breeding stock is.

Are they both sharing the same tank? Just curious if its a display of dominance...

Nope, I no longer have the low genetics male, but at the time of the pics they were both solitary. The F1 is still solitary for aggression reasons :D

Thanks for clarifying - great looking Dovii.

Good stuff, Nice 1

You're killing me with all these great pics of your dovii.:D

Cool beaners!! They both taken with the same camera and flash?! Thats pretty cool! Can't argue there man though, WC and F1 are the best fish to have hands down for color!

Yep, same P&S camera and flash.. Canon A410 I think it is.. Same tanks and lighting as well. Everything is the same except for the fish.
