"Between 20 percent and 69 percent of fish keepers surveyed said they'd released aquarium fish before.

Releasing non-native fish into the environment happens a lot more often than not. People buy fish like red tailed cats, pacus, koi, goldfish, etc. for their small aquariums. Eventually the fish outgrow the tank. People then dump them into a local pond, lake, or river. It happens all the time. In the state of Florida alone, there are over 300 species of non-native fish in the waterways. Why do you think they ban owning certain fish in different states?

That sucks I was thinking of getting an albino red belly pacu at 8" for fourteen bucks but idk anything about them so not for me

I know this. Been fishing for 25 years. Im very active in fishing management and sustainability. I'm strictly pointing out the lack of substance behind those numbers.
