It's happening...

...my H. scomberoides is going to die

As experienced by a lot of owners before, my scomberoides just stopped eating 2-3 weeks ago at about 8".

No smelt, no feeder fish, nothing - he just won't touch it.

Water parameters are of course fine, regular changes every week and so on. All the other fish (Hujeta, SD, Plecos) behave as usual.

I haven't changed anything either, no additional fish or anything.

So, I'm really clueless and just wanted to share.

That would suck if it did - Mine just went thru a month of not eating while he was shedding his fangs once the lil' new ones set, he started eating like a hog. He's about the same size as yours. Hopefully this is whats goin' on in your tank.

And that seems to be exactly what's happening. I checked again when I bought the feeder fish - 4 weeks ago.

And today, he ATE one!!!

I am relieved, sorry for the false alarm, but 4 weeks without touching anything, he became worryingly skinny. Hope he continues to eat now, I think that was a close call.
