my tank has completed its fishless cycle and now its time for the fish!

question is how many gulper cats should i get? :nilly:

heres the tank stats:

56 gallon 36 X 18 X 20''H

driftwood center piece and a couple of bushy plants on the sides.

granite tiles, instead of substrate.

Filtration: 2 AC 110s with sponge in each. both filled with bio media; eheim substrate pro and Seachem Matrix.

8ppm of ammonia cycled with in 36 hours! :headbang2

that was after the initial cycle of course;)

anyways.

$100 per gulper but...if i buy 3 i get them for 75 each!

whats it going to be?

i need to know very soon! :nilly:

I would think 3 would be fine :D

Ya but his filtration not very strong... unless control feeding. Mine feed big GF feeder 1 can eat 3~4 and the small one 3 small feeder... next day water not so good and I add stronger filter. Bad water can make the eye blur

Well get all 3 if condition is good.

Here mine...

I normally look for good body shape and prefer black.

I dun put driftwood as it will try to hide in and might injured itself by rubbing.

Some picture update once you get it...

thanks for ur input! ur gulpers are sweet! the driftwood i have doesn't have and pointy or rough spots on it. do u think i will be ok?

thanks

why do u think my filtration isn't adequate? AC 110 is the best HOB out there and i have 2 of them on a 56 gallon tank. that's 1000GPH; i have a 17.8X turn over rate.. .. not to mention their both filled with great bio media.

what kinda control feeding regime do u recommend?

thanks.

In a 3' x18" tank?? Don't those guys get almost a foot long? Filtration aside, I don't think there'd be room for 3. (But what do I know, I don't have one).
Death Sting-I'd get the 1. You've got a good set-up to spoil 1 :-)

they get about 9 - 10'' usually....3 maybe over doing it! i dunno to be honest!!

but 1 :grinno:

there's a couple of people who keep these guys single in a 30 gal and even 20 gal.

heres the thread that talks about what they need:

Well you can use your current setup can if the water is not good enough for 3 you can always add other filter. 3 is still alright for a 3ft. They dun swim like dorado and most of the time they just stay in 1 corner together. Control feeding mean every 3day I feed once with 10 big gf feeder it will last about 2 days or more... some time faster if i hand feed... as long no sharp edge will be find.
