Ok heres the deal, ive got a 10" breeding pair of severums, who cant keep their fry alive to save the world lol, so i would like to raise the eggs my self and seen as theya re getting ready to breed again, i would like some advice. they have been breeding for aprox 3 years since they were a year old, and the person who i got them off 2 years ago said they had never raised their fry before, but she thought it was because they were in a coumminity tank with oscars and big catfish. To make my life easier they are cleaning a small 122 rock rather than a 2ft bit of bogwood lol, so i cant easily remove it.
I have a 16x8x8 with a HOB filter and a 25w heater, now here the hard part:
1 - when / should i remove the eggs?
2- how do i keep them alive?
3 - how long should it take them to hatch?
4 - is there any " chemical" i could add to help this process along.

I am only asking this as i have several people waiting on severum fry and i can get quite a good price for them. and seen as my sevys lay about 250-300 eggs thats alot of severms to sell lol.

thanks fr the help... Rusty

Practical Breeding. In a typical breeding tank, angelfish spawn on slate. Professional breeders snatch out the egg-covered slate before either parent gets hungry for a tasty caviar snack. They rear the eggs artificially in a gallon jar of water from the breeding tank. They color the water dark blue with methylene blue to retard fungus. They use a slow airstone to replace the parents. (Airstones never eat angelfish eggs.) Some critics suggest that this decreases the inherited parental breeding activities. Mostly, it decreases parental egg eating.

Put it in a small breeder, or in a little hang on box thing, add an airstone to have some water motion and a lot of oxygen (but not too much theyre being blown around) and if you notice any fungus growing you can remove them using a pipette or something. Then wait for them to hatch i guess. Gather them before they dissappear i guess.
