Iv got a new tank to setup!

hi everyone, im geting ready to set up my first large marine aquarium and im not sure how to go about it, any tips? all i have right now is the tank itself, not even a hood yet, oh and its a used 55 gal.

PS: im looking for some Filtration ideas, something cheep...looking for something i can make myself actualy!(crazy idea i got from a friend id like to persue)

im converting my 180 to salt FO tank... tommrow i tear down the 180... then the fun starts

Now repeat after me 'I am a Aquaroholic and I am proud of it'

Decide on what kind of a fish you want to keep in there then...

Do a search for Wet / Dry filters on this forum, you can't get cheaper for the amount of filtration...Easy to make, run & maintain.

Then go buy a general purpose shop light (flourescent), maybe more lighting than you'll need but it's easy to cut down on light.

Everything else is subject to your whims .

thx for the advice, im thinking i am going to use it for a grow out tank now, maby even use it for splitting up my pirana school.

well, i do have a SW nano, but idealy id like to get an even bigger tank for the SW =-)
