Would like a fish to work some of the algae. Not a huge poblem, but it would be nice to find a guy who will benefit. I have a 75g with some bichir's and geo's. So they have to be good size...pleco, pictus...??

A pleco maybe, but honestly unless you actually want the fish you are just replacing one problem with another. Plecos are not cleanup crews, they make way more mess than they clean up. Gigantic pooping machines they are. I like them but not because they keep the tank clean.

was thinking maybe a few pictus....very active and pretty cool lookin'

Your best bet is to invest in a good algae scrubber and do it yourself.

I've had a lot of success with fei fengs (prochilodus). Although some work harder than others, but man they can clean my entire 120g in one day. Plus I like the way they look.

citrinellus...ur missin my point. I am aware the fish is NOT going to clean my tank. I am asking if there is a cat that would benefit from the algae. Plus one that would be active and visual.

Some plecos would eat the algae but once they have removed all traces of the stuff they will have to be fed something else which they would likely have to compete with some of the other fish for.Keep the lights off if you don't need them to be on.

just hooked the lights to a timer....def helps. Just really enjoy watchin'

snails maybe? im about to try them with my tanks but im not sure if the bichir would eat snails
