I've got my third polypterus today...

My first is a delhezi

Next pic, worse but closer

The second one is a senegalus but it's camera shy.
And today I bought my third and the only species they had was two delhezi so I took the bigger and more beautiful one. 300skr =36usd. So after a while in the tank I started to observed it and it's no delhezi.

It's looks like a ornatipinnis in my eyes

Or are I totally lost?

it is a ornate. both of them =) nice pick up. i had a ornate before with one fin that was a monster. out ate my nile perch. lol have fun with them

Are you sure about the first one? It don't show on the pic but it's light grey with black spots.

is not a patternless del, it just hasnt developed any bold stripes yet and yes the second is an ornate

it's patternless. i have one just like it. delhezis don't develop bold stripes either. it's either they have it or don't.

I gotta agree the first one looks like a patternless delhezi, a clearer pic would help. delhezis don't go through a pattern change, their pattern remains generally constant throughout their life.

The second one is definitely an ornate.
