Hi..friends
my geophagus RH Tapajos spawned yesterday...same process as usual:)
It's a second spawned
First time I've done one mistake..by feeding them while they are holding eggs. So they swallowed all eggs in hurry of food...
What to do now??its second spawned

1. feed them or not?
2.when they release eggs from there mouth?
3.do they fine..without feeding till the whole process complete?...definitely not! then what to do?

It's easy for me to understand if someone please explain whole process of breeding

Any help will greatly appreciated :)

I'm pretty sure they will be fine without food, I thought they usually deposit eggs?

Red head Tapajos should be delayed mouthbrooders. They should guard the eggs for 2 - 3 days and then pick up the fry once they hatch. If yours picked up the eggs immediately it sounds like they were eating them instead of mouthbrooding them.

I always fed my tanks with no issues. Most holding Geos will refuse food while they're mouthbrooding. You can fast them during holding if you want but imo it's unnecessary.

They will usually not release fry for several days after hatching. When they do, it is sometimes only briefly, especially if they feel threatened. Mine would gather up fry every time I walked in the room. I eventually stripped the fry from mine so I could raise them.
