Since I'm not gonna have physical school for the next year, I thought I'd have some fun at home (and make some money off of it)
I live in a horrible area for fishkeeping. Noone wants to buy any of the less common species I have lying around, and I don't trust myself with shipping till I get some polyfil and better styros. Had a bad incident. LFS' either won't buy them or don't give credit either. So to accommodate this, I have taken up throwing extremely prolific and common fish in my summer tubs (guppies, white clouds, and red swordtails, with the exception of gertrudae rainbows, those are for the LAC) so I can sell to my LFS. Friends with the owner, it's a small shop, and he only wants things he knows will sell, so I'm centering my more recent choices around that. My most recent addition to this chaotic cast of common species is veiltailed bettas.
I've usually been good with getting random pairs of fish and having them spawn within a few days, but this is a new record for me time wise. My esmeraldas gold acaras spawned within 2 days of me getting them, my HRPs spawned in 4 upon their introduction, my convicts spawned in a week (to be expected), and my nanolutea spawned as soon as I got them in their own tank. Then again I had the latter for months beforehand. etc etc with more success in spawning things within days of me getting them, as for the bettas, I got the pair yesterday, they spawned today. Maybe it's just luck?
