Jack D not eating?

I bought a 5 inch Dempsey last Friday. He hasnt eaten anything. The food just floats for a few days and drops to the bottom. He looks good though. He swims all over. No signs of stress at all. Any ideas?

Try different types of food; krill, blood worms, earth worms, etc. Check the water, see if everything is stable.

He may have only been fed live food before you got him.one way to make him eat is to take a piece of air line tubing about a 6 inches long and cut the end on an angle so it has a point.Then take a small piece of shrimp or an earthworm and stick it on the end.then slowly wave the tubing in front of him like it's a fish.If he has been eating live foods he might try to catch the "Fish" and eat it.Good luck.

My Jack Dempsey loves blood worms, earthworms, and he takes Krill right out of my hand. Definetley check your water quality!!!
