I have a 4 inch JD what I believe to be a female going into a 90g soon. I also have a red wolf fish of similar size, so there should be no problems there.

Can anyone suggest another cichlid for my tank. I was thinking a salvini with possibly a pleco. Would I have room for more?

Gladly take other suggestions, I like all cichlids.

I have had her about a month and a half, and she is currently in a 10g by herself. Cant wait to get her in the 90g.

I would also actually say she is closer to 3 inches.

I would think in a 90 you would have room for one or two other smaller cichlids or some dither fish. I saw a 75 set up one time with a big jack dempsey and a bunch of giant zebra danios. That was pretty sweet. You could add a severum or two, a green terror, a salvini or two would work as well, firemouths, could definitely do a pleco, probably an oscar. You have some options, just don't go too crazy. Whatever you add, make sure it is about the same size as your dempsey. Good luck.

GREEN TERROR!!!!!! but no other large cichlids besides him and the jd
P.S. Most Wolf cichlids get NAAAAAASSSSSSSTY but other than that...

You may have a hard time getting her to get along with a tank mate. Generally if Jacks are by themselves for a good amount of time they become aggressive towards other fish. It's a lot easier if you put them with other fish when first get them. She may be extremely aggressive towards another fish(might even kill it). A convict may be your best bet as they are tough and can hold their own.

Good luck!

Clown loaches would be cool!!! I had 3 in my 125 and they were a ton of fun to watch. They are great attractive bottom feeders and the cichlids never messed with them. They also grow fairly slowly so they wont crowd your tank up in a hurry. I would get 5 of them if you go that route cause they will school together throughout the bottom of the tank and it looks really rad!!! That's right..... I said rad!!!

Great input all, thanks! Yeh the red wolf fish is the most active of the wolf fish. It is indeed not a dovii. They can be found in the "Other Characin" section here on our forums. They only get about 9 inches tops.

I really like the idea of getting a exotic looking pleco with a salvini or possibly a white saum green terror if I find one. All the severum suggestions are great but for some reason I dont find them attractive looking at all.

So would that 5 fish combo possibly work. (red wolf, gt(white saum), JD, salvini, pleco)
