Jack Dempsey acting weird

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
she has been like that for 3 weeks?! im surprised she has lasted that long, what are your water parameters? how often do you do water changes? i dont know what it is but its definitely serious and needs to be addressed immediately, let us know all the details about your tank and routine and if there was anything that happened around the same time she started doing this. but i think its something with your water because all of your fish were laying on the bottom and unless its midnight and you just turned on the lights and they hadnt woken up yet they shouldnt be laying on the bottom like that at all, and all of there colors are super stressed looking

I do water changes 2-3 times a week. I just did a water change and vacuum today. It is a 55 gallon with 2 JDs, 1 Jag, 1 Pleco. I am picking up my 135 tomorrow. The other fish that was on the bottom (Jag) was just put in the tank the same day I took the video(a week ago), it did not have any color when I bought it. He/she is now showing color. The other JD was just getting used to the new fish I put in. I will put up a new video to show you. She is the ONLY fish that is acting weird.

You put P.H balancer in right? This also looks like a swim bladder issue, She may have internal parasites which is probably the worst possible thing that could happen.

I would have to agree that it is probably an internal parasite which is causing her swim bladder to not work properly. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that this has the ability to become permanent. I hope that this isn't the case though. Good luck.
