Would a Jack dempsey and 4 Convict cichlids be ok to live their whole life in a 60 gallon tank? If not, I'm set on getting a Jack dempsey for sure, but I want more than 1 fish in my 60g tank. I really like convicts also, I just don't know how many would be ok, also if not convicts what other fish would be good to get multiple of to live with a Jack.

Yes, if all male convicts; if all female, JD will pair with one and they will kill the rest.

That setup will work until you get a mating pair and then the pair will beat the rest of the fish down. If you could manage to avoid any mating then it would work fine.
That set up MIGHT work. i had a convict at took over a 55 gallon... that was some silver dollars and a jack dempsey in it.
In a 60 gallon I would do a JD with one or two male convicts. I think four would be too many personally.
