I have a 3-4 inch Jack Dempsey who looks very bloated but is still swimming around and eating? what do you think?

Have you made any recent diet change? Particularly adding high protein such as beef heart has caused this in my fish. Cut the culprit and the bloat went awY too.

i would immeteately get some metro and treat him. It may be a little differnt with SA cichlids but i know my africans get bloat once in a while and if it is not treated immedeately, it is pretty much a death sentence. it may not be bloat but it is better safe than sorry. is he still eating? i would also stop feeding him untill it goes away. That can compound the problem. some things you can use to possibly make it better that you may have around the house is feed him a pea. a short bath in a epsom salt solution could also help.
Hey guys! Thanks for the replies! I took some frozen peas and popped them out of the shell and fed them last night. This morning he was all better!
