Hey breeders,

I have an unknown aged 7" male JD who was raised in confined quarters with a 10" Oscar. My question is since these two "bachelors" have been living it up single for so long, is it still possible to get this ol'boys juices going if I grow out a female to put in with him or am I wasting my time? Also, about how big should I get the female before setting them up on a blind date, I was thinking at least 5 inches?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think there is any harm in trying. Your fish may surprise you. I think the best way to get his juices going would be to feed him live foods, give him warm water and let him see his potential girlfriend. The bigger your female is the less likely it is that she will get killed.

When you put two fish together obviously there will be a period of watching to be sure the bigger fish accepts the smaller. If they accept each other size will not matter. But I would definitely give it a try.
