Is it possible to get electric blue jack dempseys from two jack dempseys that look normal? If two blue gene jack dempseys breed what will be the out come? Please let me know thanks.

Yes, if both are blue gene then you will get some electric blue and some blue genes. From what I've heard the best EBJD come from blue gene parents. I'm currently raising some females for my EBJD.

I have also read that the best ones come from blue gene parents. I am currently breeding a gold jack to a blue gene jack and trying to get a pair of blue genes formed put of a group I just got. Very excited about these spawns!

If two Blue Gene JD's bred, then 25% of the fry should be EBs, 50% would be BG and 25% would be regular JD.

Yankeejack is correct. TexOscar1 is also correct, the hardest part is seperateing the blues from the regular ones as soon as possible. I talk my wife into using her fingernails to seperate them in the net, tiny little buggars and my eyes are not what they used to be, lol! The more genetic diversity the better. I personally see no difference in the amount of defects wether it is ebjd x bgjd or bgjd x bgjd. Some might not even show defects until they get some size, crooked spine for example. Good luck, but be prepared to do a lot of kulling. Breeding these fish can have it's blessings and it's curses. I started it as a challenge, now it's an obsession, 15 tanks later!

Thanks for the info blue fish! I know the obsession, currently back down to 13 tanks and finding I need the others again! Lol
