I have two JD's in my cichlid tank and they bred, I am no fish breeder, so what do I do? Can I take the wood out and put it in its own tank? Do I take the fish that is guarding the eggs with it if I do transfer it?

I fear the other fish will eat them all immediately.

The catfish might eat the eggs at night. I would move them to thier own tank or move the tank mates

Yeah he or one of the other fish got to a few of them, the JD was hovering pretty good over them yesterday but in the night probably a quarter of them went missing.

I don't have the tank space to move all the tank mates and read you aren't supposed to move the eggs.

I don't know what to do right now about them.

if you remove the eggs, there is a possibility that the M or F could turn on the other, fighting.you can move part of the eggs, just don't expose them to air.small tank with water from the main tank, start a sponge filter in the main tank now,so it will build BB.there is a good chance that they will spawn again,if you don't move the tankmates or the eggs, then you probably won't be able to raise any.if the parents are alone they will raise them well.be prepared with a plan in a few weeks
