so a couple of months ago i had a pair of jds the female jumped out and i want to start breeding them again now but i have a 125 and a 75g the 125g has two oscars and the 75g has two delhezi bichirs so if i put both of them in one tank it would be overstocked and i would have aggresion problems but what if i had one in one tank and the other in another tank and when i want to breed them i divide the 125g put them in one side let them breed remove the eggs and put the parents back in different tanks?
let me know if im crazy or if this would actually work!

I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, if the female jd is with the bichirs and male with the oscars. I haven’t kept very many bichirs (only ever had 2 sens) I’m not sure how messy Delhizi would be depending on that I would probably just put the Jds into the 75 if filtration is adequate.

wont they beat up the dels also i dont think they are that much different than sens maybe get a little bigger but not much
I had a 55 with a female jd, Breeding pair of convicts, 2 sens and a baby blood parrot. the only aggression came from when the cons were breeding and chased everyone, and when the bp cruised too close to the jds cave. The sens pretty much stuck to themselves and we’re mostly in the pvc. Though my jd was pretty laid back she would run away from the cons and only actually stood her ground when fish would get right infront or inside her cave.

If the female JD didn't want to breed, the male would kill it in the divided 125g. She would have no escape route.

ok i might give it a try worse case i rehome also i have a batch of fry growing out from the male before the female jumped out if i found a female is it ok to breed related fish?
Yea breeding related fish is common I’m pretty sure that your able to inbreed fish up to something like 4 generations until you start seeing deformities and getting non viable fry. I’ve never done it myself but I’ve seen and read about a lot of other people doing it.
