jack dempsey cichlid question

hi i just bought a jack dempsey and i was wondering how big do they have to get to reach sexual maturity?

and can u guys help me tell is there a way to sex them from male to female?

im not sure if this is it hitting sexual maturity.. but at 6 months old, my jd has gotten significantly better color and a jump in size

sometimes it can be very easy to tell at small sizes. but usually to the untrained eye around 3-3.5" will you be able to tell how to sex and they can spawn at that size too
