Convict is one type of fish, Jack Dempsey is another. Both are cichlids. The convict usually max out around 6 or so inches, jds can get a bit bigger, up to 10 or so.

No such thing. They get around 7".


I've never heard of them being hybridized, but they will both breed with most anything, so i don't see why not.

Ok cool. I bought 2 JD but they look like they have the stripes on em like the convicts. I will try to get a pic when I get home from work. Thanks for the help!
