I went in my fish room and noticed my jacks spawned. I never tried breeding them before and at this point dont know what to do.

Right now they are about 6-7 inches long and the female is guarding the eggs.

My question is what do i do now? they are in a 55 gallon tank with a 100 gallon hang on the back filter with 2 sponge filters.

Should i take the eggs away from the parents?
Let the eggs hatch then try and fish them all out?
Leave with the parents until they grow to x inch(s)

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Remove em' when they r about half inch and for feeding take the hikari pellets and crush it till its like very fine sand.

OK thanks for the info.

Also Hikari has this new stuff called first bites for newborn fry and it works great!

OK ill go to the store and see if i can find any. as far as the eggs tho its been 15 hours and i haven't seen any white and i haven't noticed any missing

yeah just leave them with the parents till they are about .5-1in and feed by either hikari first bites (ive used this and its great) or just crush up flake food GOOD LUCK, also dont be surprised if they eat them since its their first time, there is usually a bit of a learning curb for new parents

I have breed jacks multiple times......everyone is right with advice so far to leave with the parents till about half inch to one inch then move either parents or fry to another tank....if you are gonna move the babies at half an inch to and inch use a 3/4-1 inch hose and syphon them into a bucket to move to there new home.....talk to local fish pets shops and see if they wanna give you store credit or buy some from you......good luck
